Edith Lynn Ward, 83, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at her residence.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Oct., 4, 2017, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Bro. Roger Ratliff officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery with Donny Godfrey, Billy Joe Dorner, Ron Melton, Jerry Sandlin and Jim Weaver serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., today, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel.
Ward was born on June 13, 1934, in Sulphur Bluff, Texas, to Carlos and Dessie (Pennington) Buster. She married Frank Ward in Sulphur Bluff on March 26, 1950. Frank preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2010. Ward was owner and manager for Ward Lawn Enterprises, a member of Van Sickle Baptist Church and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her son, Gregory Ward and wife, Shawna of Heath; grandchildren, Jilleighann Perkins and husband, Garrett of Rockwall and Jordan Ward of Heath; brother, Robbie Buster of Lubbock; sisters-in-law, Hazel Brumley and Erma Hill; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ward was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, B.J. Buster.
The family would like to thank Texas Oncology, Vitas Hospice Care, Pat Gibson and everyone who helped with Ward's care.
