Dorothy Nell Rice, 87, of Quinlan, passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, in Greenville.
Dorothy was born Nov. 20, 1929, in Terrell, the daughter of James C. and Tressie (Nixon) Norris. She married Parvin W. "Pete" Rice at Boles Home on April 30, 1945. She retired from Wal-Mart and was of Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish Dorothy's memory are her children, Charlotte Hughes of Quinlan, Don Rice of Quinlan, Greg Rice of Troup and Becky Baskin of Canton, along with 17 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Priscilla Kay, two brothers, three sisters and great-granddaughter, Madison Kaye Jones.
Ms. Rice's family wishes to extend a special thanks to the management and staff at Legends Heath and Rehabilitation for their extraordinary care during the last two years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Quinlan Funeral Home with Bro. David Hammond officiating. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park with Trever Jones, Toby Rice, Buster Johnson, Chris Boor, Jeremy Nash and Eric Rice serving as pallbearers.
