Deborah Ann Raney, 66, passed away July 27, 2017 in Cooper, Texas. Her service is scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, July 31, at First Baptist Church in Ladonia with interment at the Ladonia Cemetery. Rev. David Howard will officiate.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, July 30, at Delta Funeral Home.
She was born June 1, 1951, in Mesquite, Texas, to Jo Ann and Nathan Edward Simmons. She married Johnny Raney on Oct. 9, 1970, in Mesquite. She retired from Texas A&M University of Commerce.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny, and mother Jo Ann Jones.
She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Hodges and husband Blayne of Sumner, Texas, and Kristy Foster and husband Weldon of Cooper; grandchildren Raney Hodges of Sumner, Dustin Foster (Army) of El Paso, Texas, Darron Foster (Navy) of Key West, Fla., Dylan Foster of Cooper, and Kolie Foster of Cooper; great-grandchildren Eli Foster and Kamryn Foster of El Paso; father Robert Jones of Mesquite; brothers Nathan Simmons of Palm Springs, Calif., and Donald Jones of Dallas, Texas; and sisters Sandy Erickson of Valparaiso, Fla., Lisa Longbotham of Dallas, and Suzanne King of Mesquite.
Pallbearers are Jackie Pope, Bill Hanes, Ricky Bettes, John Holcomb, Jeff Miller and Joby Thomas.
