Bobby Charles Dicken was born Aug. 27, 1937, in Tulsa, Okla., to W.R. (Bob) Dicken and Thora O. (Sis) Standifer Dicken and passed away Nov. 19, 2017.
He attended the Greenville ISD and graduated from Greenville High School in 1955 and graduated from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University at Commerce) in 1959.
Bobby served in the U.S. Air Force for four years with three years in Japan. He retired from Raytheon after 36 years with preceding companies. He was a 50-year member of the Merit Masonic Lodge No. 727.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Sue (Susie); daughter Virginia (Jenny) Lankford; son John Lankford and wife Maureen; daughter Jill Womack; son Rory (Dicken) Cobb and wife Andrea; son Todd (Dicken) Cobb; grandson Blake Lankford and wife Jackie; grandsons Braden, Garrett, Gage and Seth Womack; granddaughters Devon Lankford, Wrynn Jones and husband Tyler, Shelby M'Lynn Lankford and Anthony Perry; brother Dwayne Dicken and wife Susan; great-grandsons Logan, Cash, Gabriel, Brigg, Tripp, Riggin and great-granddaughter Whitley.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Bob and Sis), son Jerry A. Lankford Jr. and great-granddaughter Hanna Grace Lankford.
He was a jack-of-all-trades and self-proclaimed master of none. He enjoyed family as a participant, sports as a spectator, and music as a wannabe musician.
A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m., today, Nov. 22, 2017, at Merit Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 until 2 p.m. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
