Bobby Travis Davis, 89, of Yantis, Texas, passed away Jan. 3, 2018.
He was born Oct. 21, 1928, to Travis and Willie Pearl "Billie" Davis in Denton, Texas. Bob served in the US Navy in Tsing Tao China in WWII alongside the Marine Corps, was a vital part of working on Highwy 20 in Oklahoma between Hominy and Fairfax, did various jobs including working at a manufacturing company called DICO in Tulsa, Okla., and ran the tool crib. He also founded a prison ministry called "Straight Up" at Dick Conners Correctional Center.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carroll Davis; son Robert Travis Davis and wife Nadya; daughters, Dianne Davis, Carrie McFaul and husband Jon, Michelle Bone and husband Jason and Meredith Cimino; brothers Tommy Clark Davis and wife Betty and Arthur "Buzzy" Davis and wife Nadezhda; sister Karren Gregory and previous spouse Lotus Burnett; grandchildren Chloe, Kali, Nicole, Melody, Rally, Kristin, Brandon, Haley, Amber, Blayne, Meghan, Chase, Kasyn, Kyle, and Carolanne; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Robert Loy and Kevin Clark.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at Pecan Grove Church, Greenville, and a memorial service at Powell Funeral Home in Hominy, Okla., on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 10 a.m.
