SHERMAN A graveside service for Mr. Billy George Greaves, 96, of Sherman will be held Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, at East Mount Cemetery in Greenville, Texas, at 11 a.m.
Billy was born Feb. 10, 1921, in Greenville. He graduated from Greenville High School, Class of 1938. After graduation he joined the Navy, serving in World War II. He married his sweetheart, Helen Spencer, and remained married until her passing. He found love again and married the late Lola Mae Cox. Billy worked for the US Postal Service in Greenville and then Lubbock until his retirement. Billy never met a stranger and was loved by all.
Mr. Greaves passed away on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Penne Greaves; his first wife, Helen Greaves, and second wife, Lola Mae Greaves; his stepdaughter, Marilyn Simmons; and his brother, Bobby Greaves.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Jo Ellen Waddill; stepdaughters, Cindy Butler and Carolyn Simmons; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Dunbar and many other cherished family members.
