Betty was born in Hays, Kan., on July 4, 1933, to Hilary G. and Elizabeth C. Weigel. She married Tom Withers on July 21, 1951. Betty was a homemaker, and a beautiful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always teasing those she loved. She was also known for her kindness and thoughtfulness of others, always wanting to lend a hand or advice when needed. She was also known for her ability to always find a good bargain and became lovingly known as "Bargain Betty." She lived life for her children and grandchildren and set a wonderful example for us all to follow.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister and brother and is survived by her five children, Wanda Withers of Coppell, Texas, Ellen Grant of Richardson, Texas, Jennifer John and husband Steven of Victoria, Minn., Lori Mixson and husband Joel of Greenville, and Thomas Withers and wife Gloria of Farmers Branch. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, including Sara Murphy (Patrick), Abigail and Amanda Grant, Kristen Thomas, Trey Heard (Jess), Adam, Alex and Elizabeth Mixson, Kevin Shields, Dylan, Rachael, Elliot, Gavin, and Peyton Withers, and four great-grandchildren, Graham, Mackenzie, Zoe, and Brady.
The family would like to thank her hospice nurses and aides for their loving care of Mom, and also her caregiver, Adrian. Also, special thanks to Helen Mixson for your love, friendship and care of our Mom.
