Mrs. L.H. "Bill" Daniel passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the age of 99.
Her passing was preceded by the passing of her husband, L.H. "Dan" Daniel, and of her daughter, Sandra Daniel Jaco.
She is survived by her son, Hayden Daniel; two grandsons, Rick and David Billingsley; daughter-in-law Barbara Cherry; son-in-law Charles Jaco, and second-generation daughters-in-law Laura Billingsley and Loli Billingsley.
In 1938 Bill graduated from the University of Texas where she had met the love of her life in Dan, a tall, but quiet engineering student from Greenville. Following their marriage, World War II began and the U.S. War Department assigned Dan to a military-engineering posting in Toledo, Ohio, where the family lived throughout the war years. After moving back to Midland, Texas, the family moved to Greenville in 1953 where Dan joined the family's business, Daniel Oil Company.
Over the years Bill embraced and cherished the additions to the Daniel family in Charles, Barbara, Laura, and Loli and four great-grandchildren in Megan, Chance, David, and Sandra Marie; and in her later years, this included two treasured ladies in Wanda Jones and Lydia Villarreal, whose great love and dedication made Bill's final years a wonderful and spirited journey.
The funeral service for Mrs. Daniel will be held at Wesley Methodist Church, 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 17, with Rev. Gene Wisdom officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
